What's New

The St Arnaud PS says a very big Thank You to the Bendigo Bank for their contribution of $20,000 to the Right Choices program over the last 5 years. On Tuesday morning we were presented with the final instalment of $4000 and it was terrific to have our Junior School Councillors on hand to help receive the giant cheque.

The Right Choices program continues to do lots of great work with students and builds links within the community, as an early intervention program.

Funds raised and donated go directly to maintaining access and service for all the community based activities that Right Choices delivers.

Activities include:

The Breakfast Program

Community Kitchen

Gardening Programs

Nursing Home and Hostel visits

Meals on Wheels

and several other annual events.

Food Bank ‘School Breakfast Club’

Next term our school will be utilising food donations from the Food Bank ‘School Breakfast Club Program’ - which is a great support to our Right Choices breakfast program, which runs Tuesday to Friday every week in the Right Choices room and is free to any student wanting a before school piece of toast, bowl of cereal, milo or glass of juice.

The breakfast program encourages students to eat a healthy and nutritious breakfast and provides a warm and welcoming environment for students to meet before school.

The program welcomes donations of suitable food, and we are looking for a microwave to warm porridge and baked beans, and a blender for making fruit smoothies out of the tinned fruit we have been given. If you have either item in full working order that you would like to donate, our students would be most grateful.

If you are available to help out by volunteering in the mornings, please contact the school to let us know.
